Wilderness Trip in Jackman, ME

Building Base Camp & Solo Experience

Join Through The Trees as we head up to Jackman, Maine just miles from the Canadian border.  We will be spending 4 days and 3 nights on 33 acres of pristine Maine wilderness with over 1,000 feet overlooking Long Pond.  We will work together to build a strong base camp where we will hone our wilderness survival skills and work as a team to tend to our every day needs.  Each participant will have the opportunity to do a "solo" where they can choose to spend 24 hours alone in the wilderness and see how they fare.

Our staff includes Registered Maine Guides and Guides-in-Training. Our number one priority as Guides is to ensure a safe, transformational and FUN experience for all our participants.  All our Guides and Guide-in-Training are passionate about sharing their love of the outdoors and creating a meaningful community that supports teens in emotional intelligence, problem solving, communication skills, resilience, self-awareness, self-confidence and a love and respect for the earth. We support and encourage self-directed learning and hands-on, project-based activities as participants follow their unique strengths. Teens build self-awareness and resilience by incrementally pushing past comfort zones in a supportive community. This wilderness experience will foster teamwork, creative problem solving, communication and resilience.
