School Dismissal until 5:30pm
In our Nature Immersion After School Program, the students will be immersed in nature and have the opportunity to engage with nature’s playground, discovering and strengthening a deeper connection to themselves, nature and their peer community. On 58 acres of forest, field, pond and the magical Frost Gully Brook, kids and teens can experience the healing effects of the natural world. Through self-directed learning and play, children and teens will be able to unwind and build confidence, resilience, stronger awareness of self and an appreciation of the natural world. They will also acquire & hone their understanding of wilderness skills. Our staff includes Registered Maine Guides, Guides-in-Training, and Teen Mentors, all of whom are passionate about sharing their love of the outdoors and creating a meaningful community for children and teens.
Some of the Wilderness skills we focus on are: fire building, shelter building, tracking, foraging, navigation and basic whittling and sawing.
Throughout the program, we will be reinforcing the Through The Trees Root Values:
Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Kind, Be Responsible, Be Mindful, Be Your Best Self and HAVE FUN!
